Outside Lima city, we can find the archaeological complex of Pachacámac, one of the oldest in the city. There are almost 2,000 years of history that surround this place located in the middle of the desert, a sacred place of pilgrimage to which the ancient Peruvians went to visit the God who animates the world: Pachacámac. This powerful God was feared by many and to keep him happy they performed a series of rituals and offerings. Many of these elements, today, are part of the exhibition of its Site Museum.
We will begin our pilgrimage visiting the Pachacámac Site Museum, where we can learn and visualize its extension, the ceramics and textiles found, the pre-Inca cultures that passed through this place and finally meet the God Pachacámac through the carved wooden totem found in one of its pyramids. Later, with our mobility, we will visit the administrative pyramids and temples found in the archaeological complex. Our goal will be to reach the Temple of the Sun, the highest pyramid in the complex, in order to obtain panoramic views of the Lurín River Valley and our Peruvian sea.
