Peru has a history of around 5000 years old, and believe it or not but just in Lima City you can find more that 200 archeological sites that includes pyramids and citadels. And I know, maybe you are wondering.. Where are those pyramids? I haven’t seen them yet? and the answer is that Lima has developed so much in the last 60 years that now the pyramids are surrounded by modern buildings, so they are like in a situation of ‘hidden’ between the streets of the city.
But! in this tour you will have the opportunity to see one of them, a pyramid of almost 2000 years old located in Miraflores District. We will walk through the differents terraces of the pyramid until we reach the top. From there we will explain to you how Lima started growing and also the different events that happened in the peruvian capital.
After the visit, we will go to the Museum Larco, museum that in the year 2017 entered to the list of the Best 25 Museums of the World organized by Trip Advisor. The family Larco-Hoyle has recollected more than 45,000 pieces between ceramics and textiles of the different cultures that developed in ancient Peru and now they show a part of them in the museum located in Pueblo Libre district. It’s important to mention too that this is one of the first museums in the world to allow the access to the storage of it.
After the tour we will give you free time to visit the storage with around 30,000 ceramics and also to take a look to the Erotic Gallery (linked with reproduction, the endlessly regeneration of life and the mother earth). Depending of the time that we start the tour we can have lunch or dinner in the Café Larco located in the magnificient gardens of the museum. Get ready to taste some peruvian food!
